NOUS Hospital Consultants is the Consulting Organisation of
Management and Design professionals specialising in Hospitals and Healthcare
Projects. We have, to our credit, the programming and planning of more than
ninety Healthcare projects, of which seventy one are hospitals. They are not
only meeting the objectives of planning but have proved to be capable of meeting
the planned and un-planned additional loads in terms of bed’s service area
ratios and service system loads.
These projects are located in New
Delhi, Mumbai, Chandigarh, Agroha, Ambala, Allahabad, Alwar, Barbil, Bhuj,
Chattisgarh, Chittaurgarh, Greater Noida, Gurgaon, Goa, Jammu, Jaipur, Ludhiana,
Moradabad, Noida, Orissa, Ranikhet, Rishikesh, Sirsa, Srinagar, Surat, Udaipur,
Bangladesh, Congo, Sultanate of Oman and erstwhile USSR.
NOUS
undertakes turnkey project consultancy & provide all services from concept to
commissioning. We also provide services to various architectural firms for
designing the Hospitals, Medical Colleges, Dental Colleges, Reference Medical
Laboratories, Nursing Colleges & Health Spa. We have special expertise in
programming Multi use Modular Hospital Buildings & Systems.
We provide Management Consultancy
for creating the Business Models for Hospitals & carry out Medical Audits. We
develop the Healthcare systems to meet the Healthcare needs of a Community, by
providing Comprehensive Healthcare at a cost, that the community can afford.
Our vast experience in equipment
installation, some of which is unique, like the Cobalt Units, Linear
Accelerators, Brachy Therapy, Gamma Knife, X Knife, Endoscopy suites, Molecular
Biology Laboratories, MRI and the near Zero Bacteria Operating Rooms, PCR Labs,
has enabled us to eliminate some of the design constraints in the speciality
areas. We have to our credit, creation of more than 100 mock ups to analyse the
problems on full scale models, for ICUs, Operating Rooms, Single & Multi-unit
Obstetric Suites, Radiology Suites, special OPDs and literally all functional
areas of Hospitals, Medical & Dental Colleges.
NOUS
specialises in integrating recent technological developments in our planning and
design. For Transplant Operating Rooms in one of our projects, we have designed
2 near Zero Bacteria Operation Theatres (Less than 10 CFU per cubic Meter of Air
Volume) with pre-engineered Operating Room Modules in an open hall, employing
HVAC systems which handle 100% of Air Volume in the Operating Room and a 6
bedded Reverse Isolation Ward with similar characteristics.
We have designed a Burns Cubicle to
treat all types and grades of burns in open care concept. The cubicle provides
near zero bacteria environment with complete access to patient through barrier
nursing. The first cubicle is installed in Raigarh and has been used
successfully to treat a 70% burns case.
We have, over the years, defined the
clean and dirty traffic of hospital for design and equipment planning. We also
provide all design parameters for service systems and constantly review these in
various Hospitals to enhance the user comfort.
We have over the years analysed all
support & engineering services required in the Hospital. We provide design
parameters for Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC and Piped Medical Gas Services. We
also design Laundries, Kitchens, CSSDs & TSSUs. We specialise in providing
Telemedicine including video conferencing facilities for diagnosis and
treatment.
In
NOUS projects, we have added
department of Information technology to all our recent Hospitals. This has
enabled us to store all pre-processed data from various diagnostic modalities
for a detailed review at a later time. This also enables programming for Virtual
ICU planning at a later date specifically in tertiary care Hospitals. It also
enables the surgical team to carry out virtual surgery and plan the real surgery
in much greater detail. We now propose to make Operating Room with a CT scanner
gantry to make trauma surgery more effective.
NOUS
recommends that all new hospitals should add a Hospital wide 24 x 7 call centre.
This facilitates communication within the Hospital as well as communication
between the patient relatives and Healthcare Providers. The improved
communications leads to reduction of conflict between the Healthcare Providers
and patients and their relatives.
We have now created 3 Medical
Colleges, upgraded a premier Postgraduate Teaching institute, created a Dental
College, created 6 Nursing Colleges and planned 4 medical institutes with
Medical, Dental and Nursing Colleges. We understand Council requirements and can
programme a project to meet the statutory requirements.
NOUS
also recommends making separate building blocks for IPD and OPD functions in
medium to large Hospitals (100 Beds or more) as this brings in cost advantage as
well as functional superiority as compared to a single large building.
We are committed to our clients’
success. Wherever possible, we like to plan our projects in advance, so that we
might obtain the most reasonable cost structure. At all times, we consider the
costs to our clients and our clients’ Return on Investment. We always plan our
projects for commissioning within 12 – 18 months of breaking soil to prevent
obsolescence of the technologies used. In case the resource plan does not
support the full project plan, we phase the project facility into sub-units -
each sub-unit that is built, is capable of providing planned Healthcare in
selected Departments.
We are totally focussed on
Healthcare Industry. We interact with our peers and other professionals, with
various Healthcare Management Institutes in India and our Dr. K. B. Sood is the
visiting Faculty at Indian Institute of Health Management Research, Jaipur,
Delhi and Banglore. He regularly publishes articles on hospital planning and
Hospital Administration. He has contributed chapters on Hospital Planning to a
book on Public Health. He is also the managing director of NOUS Healthcare
Purchasing Alliance (P) Ltd. – a company dealing with Hospital Equipment and
supplies.
NOUS
Hospital
Consultants provide its
services in a
time bound plan
for executing the
projects in very
short time
on a
definite activity plan as per
the PERT &
CPM.
